Video marketing for family-owned businesses
Your face is the one ad no competitor can copy.
Owner-story videos, service explainers, and short social clips starring the people who actually do the work. Real faces, real shop, real voice, then we put every second of it to work across your site, your social, and your ads.

Everyone says “you need video.” Nobody says what kind, or why yours sits unwatched.
Here is how video usually goes wrong for a family business:
- Stock footage of models in spotless hard hats who have clearly never touched a tool
- An expensive “brand film” that lives at the bottom of the homepage and nowhere else
- The owner dreads the camera, so nothing ever gets filmed at all
- A drone montage with swelling music, no story, and no reason to call
- One horizontal video awkwardly cropped for every platform, captions missing where they matter most
The waste is not in making video. The waste is in making the wrong video once, expensively, and letting it die in one place. A family business has the one thing stock footage can never fake: actual people whose name is on the actual door. That is the whole strategy.
People hire the family down the street. They do not hire b-roll of somebody else’s.

Find the story worth telling
Why the business exists, who started it, what you refuse to cut corners on. For most family businesses the founder is the story, and we have thought hard about when the founder should be the face and when someone else should. Either way, the story comes from your family, not a script template.
-
Make filming painless
We come to your shop, your kitchen, your trucks. No studio, no teleprompter torture. It is a conversation, not a performance: we ask the questions customers ask, you answer like you would at the counter, and the nerves disappear by minute three. The best takes are always the unscripted ones.
-
Cut once, use everywhere
One shoot becomes a library: the owner story for your website, service explainers that answer real customer questions, and a stack of short vertical clips with captions for social. Every format built for the screen it will actually play on, not cropped as an afterthought.
-
Put it to work, on purpose
Video that is not distributed is a home movie. Your clips go into the website, the social calendar, the ad campaigns, the review pages, even your email follow-ups, each placed where it moves someone closer to calling you.
This is the raw material that makes everything else hit harder: paid social built on your real faces beats stock-photo ads on cost alone, your organic social stops starving for content, and your website gets the one thing templates cannot fake. We see it work hardest for contractors, where before-and-after footage sells the next job, and restaurants, where the food and the family are the whole pitch. If you are wondering how much of your family to put on screen, start with using family photos and faces in your marketing.
What one shoot day actually produces
A typical shoot with us is one day, planned tightly in advance so we capture everything in a single visit: the owner interview, the team at work, the details customers never see, and the questions you answer ten times a week, answered once on camera.
From that day, expect a working library, not a single file: an owner story for the homepage, a handful of explainers matched to your most-searched services, and enough short clips to feed social for a season. When the season changes or the message does, we cut new versions from the same footage before we ever ask you to film again. You keep everything, including the raw footage. It is your family on camera; it would be strange if anyone else owned it.
Straight answers
I hate being on camera. Can this still work?
Yes, and you are the rule, not the exception. Almost every owner we film starts out dreading it. We do not hand you a script; we have a conversation and film it, and the discomfort fades fast. If it truly is not you, we build around a family member, a longtime employee, or the work itself. Authentic and slightly imperfect beats polished and hollow every time.
How much video do we get from one shoot?
A library, not a file: typically an owner story, several service explainers, and a season’s worth of short social clips, each edited for the platform it will run on. The exact mix depends on your plan, which we agree on before anyone picks up a camera, so there are no surprises on either side.
Do we need expensive production, or can this be shot on a phone?
Both have a place, and we will tell you honestly which fits each job. Your flagship owner story deserves proper cameras, sound, and lighting. Day-to-day social clips often land better shot simply, because they feel real. Paying documentary prices for a fifteen-second clip is exactly the kind of spend we talk clients out of.
Who owns the footage?
You do, all of it, including the raw files, from day one. No licensing games, no “archival fees,” no footage held back if we ever part ways. The same ownership rule we apply to everything else applies double to video of your own family.
Put the real you on screen.
Tell us about your business and we will sketch the first shoot: the story we would tell, the clips we would cut, and where every one of them would run.
No long-term contracts. You own every frame, raw footage included.
