TextAPage for makers and boutiques

New product drop? Text it from the workbench.

Photograph the new batch, the new arrivals rack or the one-of-a-kind piece. Text the photos and a sentence in your own words. A product drop page goes up on your own website after you approve it, with nothing embellished.

The new stuff sells out before the website hears about it.

You make it, you shoot it on the counter, you post a story, and it is gone in a day. The website still shows the collection from two seasons ago. Anyone who searches for what you make, or clicks through from your bio, finds a shop that looks closed for the winter.

  • Stories disappear in a day and take the drop with them
  • Writing product copy at midnight is where good intentions go to die
  • Generic descriptions make handmade work sound like everybody else’s

Your voice is the product description. We just keep it.

How drop pages are written

What you text, and what the page will and will not say

  1. You text

Five photos and: “Fall batch of soy candles, three new scents, cedar and fig is my favorite, poured this week.” That is enough for an honest page.

  2. The page says

A fall batch, three new scents, cedar and fig as the maker’s pick, poured this week, with your photos. Your words quoted, organized and cleaned up, never inflated.

  3. The page will not say

“Hand-poured with all-natural, sustainably sourced ingredients” unless you said so. No invented materials, origins, awards or health claims. If you want it on the page, put it in the text.

A drop in three texts

  1. Shoot it where you made it

The bench, the counter, the rack by the window. Text the photos and one sentence about what is new.

  2. Read the draft

Thin on detail? It holds and asks for more instead of guessing. Answer in the same thread and the draft updates.

  3. Reply “publish”

The drop page is live on your site. With social posting on, the same approval posts it to Facebook, Instagram and Google Business Profile with a link back to the page.

What it is, and what it is not

A page about the drop

Photos, your words, and a link to wherever people can buy: your online shop, your market schedule, or your store hours. It makes the new work findable and shareable on a site you own.

Not a checkout

Drop pages do not take orders or track stock. Keep your shop for that. Selling mostly online? See ecommerce brand marketing.

A storefront too

Boutiques use it for new arrivals and window changes. More on boutique marketing.

Maker questions

Will it make my products sound fancier than they are?

No. The page quotes your words and describes what the photos show. Nothing is embellished between your text and the draft.

Can it sell the product on the page?

No. It is a page about the drop, with a link to where people can buy. It does not take orders or payments.

What if I mention a price?

If you text it, it appears as texted. You see the page before it is public, so you can change it before you reply “publish.”

Let the website keep up with the workbench.

Bring photos of your next drop to the demo and watch the page get built in your words. More on showcase pages or the TextAPage overview.

Pages on your own site. Your words, not ours. Nothing live without your OK.
